The kid may have developed hemorrhoids children if any or the following symptoms exist: blood coming out of their anus, some blood streaks on the toilet bowl, scratching of the anus or small lump on the anal opening. This is an uncomfortable situation for both parents and children.

Hemorrhoids in children are not common because this usually occurs in adults between ages 30 to 50 years old. Children can develop hemorrhoids if they have problems such as constipation and chronic straining during bowel movements. Parents should keep an eye out for symptoms of constipation, nausea, weight loss and hard, dry, stool of their children.

The child develops constipation due to lack of intake of fiber and fluids, and exercise.  The child may have discomfort and avoid bowel movements.  Parents can help the child by providing comfortable toilet seat and regular practice of bowel movements during toilet training.

It is very necessary to prevent and alleviate constipation of children.  Let him take juices such as pomegranate juice, cranberry juice; eat berries such as red currents and berries; and eat fruits like bananas, oranges, and papaya. In case hemorrhoids children developed, provide early treatment. Treatment of hemorrhoids children can be difficult because they may not understand the necessity to leave the area alone and try not to irritate it further.

Since sitting for long periods of time can cause hemorrhoids in children, encourage your child to exercise. Children should get into sports.  Instead of letting them spend long hours watching television or play games in the playstation, Gameboy, computer and other digital devices, let them play outside of your house.  Walk with them or ride the bike to keep themmoving.

However, if your child is already suffering from hemorrhoids, be careful when treating the hemorrhoids because there are treatment for adults that maybe too harsh for children. Avoid surgery for children especially if the hemorrhoid is not an extreme case.
